British Embassy in Colombia
The British Embassy in Colombia develops and maintains relations between the United Kingdom and Colombia, by supporting the UK’s political, commercial, and security interests in the country.
We do this by the implementation of international cooperation funds and programmes, such as the Prosperity Fund, the International Climate Fund, the UK PACT, the Newton Fund, Chevening scholarships and the Conflict, Stability and Security Fund, aimed at economic development and poverty reduction, competitiveness, protection and empowerment of vulnerable communities and sustainable growth.
Through the Department for International Trade, DIT, we support UK businesses in the identification of commercial opportunities in areas such as infrastructure, financial and professional services, energy and higher education, amongst others. We are committed to strengthen the Colombian and British capital markets sector, including Green Finance as well as increasing bilateral overseas and direct foreign investment.
Our work also focuses on the protection of our people through consular and visa services that aim to reduce preventable incidents and assist vulnerable British people in the country, as well as protect the UK Border through effective visa controls and immigration operations.
